CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Navy is now 2-1 after a 52-48 home win over North Carolina A&T on Sunday while Loyola Maryland also came up with a home victory over Norfolk State on Saturday night, 75-67, to improve to .500 at 2-2. Bucknell also recorded a win on Saturday, defeating Manhattan on the road 61-56, to improve to 3-1. Six other Patriot League women’s basketball teams came up short in this weekend, with Lafayette falling twice.

Navy (2-1) held a 31-29 lead over North Carolina A&T at the five-minute mark in the third period, but a three pointer from freshman Bianca Roach sparked a 7-0 that kept the momentum in the Mids favor the rest of the way. Junior Ashanti Kennedy led the way with a career high 16 points.

Loyola Maryland (2-2) was led by senior Colleen Marshall and Bri Betz-White to a 75-67 win over Norfolk State on Saturday at home. Marshall scored 28 points while Betz-White added 19. Marshall also scored six of the team’s final nine points to help secure the win, which was the first 70-plus point game since Nov. 14, 2014.

Bucknell (3-1) defeated Manhattan Saturday on the road 56-51, to get off to its best start since the 2008-09 season, thanks in large part to sophomore Jacquie Klotz. Klotz collected 33 points and 19 boards in the contest to become the first Bison to score at least 30 points in a game since Trisha Krewson 30 in 2009.

Army West Point (3-1) suffered its first loss of the year after coming up short to No. 9/14 Duke, 72-61, in Durham on Sunday. The Black Knights held the lead for nearly the entire first half before the Blue Devils came back to take the win. Senior Kelsey Minato totaled 23 points and six boards, while classmate Jean Parker collected 12 points. Sophomore Lena’ Hicks posted career highs of 11 points and four rebounds after coming off the bench.

Colgate (0-3) rallied back from a first-half deficit of 16 points but came up six points short to Monmouth on Sunday at home, 86-80. Despite the loss, it was a night of career-highs as sophomore Kateri Stone earned her first start and led the Raiders with a career-high 24 points, shooting 9-of-17. Senior Josie Stockhill also had a career high 21 points, while adding six blocks.

Holy Cross (0-4) trailed by one point with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, but a 14-2 run by Quinnipiac helped them to a 74-60 win over the Crusaders on Sunday in Hamden, Conn. Holy Cross was led by sophomore duo Tricia Byrne and Infiniti Thomas-Waheed who scored 12 points each. Byrne also had six rebounds and seven assists.

Lafayette (0-4) dropped its home opener to Duquesne on Friday night, 73-65, then fell on the road in a tough battle with Hartford on Sunday, 55-50. Senior Jamie O’Hare led the Leopards against the Dukes with 22 points and seven rebounds, then scored 15 points against the Hawks. Junior Maia Hood came off the bench and led Lafayette in Connecticut with 16 points.

American (0-4) got out to a slow start against Elon which eventually hurt them in the long run, as the Eagles fell to the Phoenix 62-54 Sunday night at Bender Arena. Sophomore Michael Harris hit a career-high 10 points and shot 5-of-6 from the field. Fellow sophomore Emily Kinneston also added 10 points in addition to five rebounds.

Boston University (0-3) was outshot by rival Boston College on Saturday night at home in Case Gym and dropped its third contest of the season, 58-37, The Terriers shot 17-of-53 in the field and were held to zero baskets from beyond the arc. Sophomore Kara Sheftic led the team with nine point and six rebounds, while classmate Erin Bayram was right behind her with a personal best eight points and career-high five rebounds.
